On Friday 13th February, it was a proud evening for Lodge Colinton & Currie No. 1029 as office bearers were installed within the Provincial Grand Lodge of Midlothian.

Our very own Bro. Dougie Munro PM, who serves as Provincial Grand Chaplain, was part of the team on the evening.
The investitures were carried out by the Right Worshipful Master of Lodge St John Corstorphine No.788, Bro. John Brown Wilson, in his capacity as Deputy Provincial Grand Master of Midlothian — adding further significance to the occasion.
We were delighted to see:
• Our Right Worshipful Master, Bro. Kenny Paterson, appointed as Provincial Senior Deacon
• Our Immediate Past Master, Bro. Stewart Walls, appointed as 18th Steward
• Bro. Steve McKenzie installed as Provincial Grand Assistant Treasurer
It was a fantastic evening, with deputations from our sister Provinces, led on this occasion by the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master of East Lothian, Bro Stuart J Robertson.
As part of the harmony, everyone was treated to a musical pipe and drum ensemble — including the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master of Midlothian, Bro. Robert Reid Law, who has only been drumming for four weeks but performed his piece superbly.
A proud moment for all concerned and excellent representation for 1029 at Provincial level.
We also wish to acknowledge and sincerely thank Bro. Bob Phillips PM, who recently stepped down after many years of faithfully representing Lodge 1029 on Provincial visits and occasions.
His commitment and service to the Lodge have been greatly appreciated.
A memorable evening and a strong showing for the Lodge.
We also wish to thank RWM Samuel Mitchell and the brethren of Lodge Dalkeith Kilwinning No.10 for their hospitality on the evening.
