Celebrating Dedication and Fellowship at Lodge 1029

On Wednesday, 25th March 2026, Lodge 1029 welcomed brethren for a memorable evening at the lodge. The night featured the exemplification of the Fellowcraft Degree with our stand-in candidate, Gary Clark PM of Lodge St John Corstorpine No. 788.

We were honoured to receive a visit from the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master of Midlothian, Robert Reid Law, accompanied by an excellent deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge. While this annual visit was a highlight in itself, the evening held an even more special occasion.

RWPGM Law presented the prestigious Diamond Diploma to Robert RD Phillips PM of Lodge 1029, celebrating his extraordinary 60 years of dedicated service to the craft.

The diploma was presented by RWPGM Law, and the accompanying jewel was proudly conferred by our own Right Worshipful Master, Kenneth Paterson.

In addition to the Provincial Deputation, a distinguished deputation from Lodge Loretto Centenary No. 1373—of which Bro. Phillips is a Past Master—was in attendance. This deputation was led by Bro. Norman Stephenson PM, adding further warmth and significance to the celebration.

Bro. Phillips has also recently retired as the lodge’s Provincial Representative, capping a remarkable period of service marked by dedication and commitment to the craft.

The brethren of Lodge 1029 wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to Bro. Phillips for his outstanding contributions and tireless support. His legacy of service continues to inspire all who are privileged to call him a brother in the craft.
